I'd like to introduce myself, Peta, an artist living in the southern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.
I have had a love of art for as long as I can remember. As a child I was frequently sketching anything around me and all sorts of things from my imagination. I studied art in high school for five years and amongst other things began painting. During this time I felt compelled to incorporate details and precision in my art. As life went along and became busier with work, marriage and eventually two babies, sadly my art fell away. But here we are now, quite a few years later, and I have been reunited with my art and loving every minute of it!! Some may call me obsessed but I prefer to think that I have years worth of paintings trapped inside me which are just bursting to come to life.
Working from my studio at home, I am kept company by our two Tonkinese cats, Lily and Luke. They are my best art critics as they never say they don't like any of my paintings! It's a great place to work with plenty of space and light. I also work in our outside workshop where I create my fluid art pieces. It's a rather messy process and drips on the floor (and all over me) are inevitable, but so enjoyable!
My art has made its way to various parts of the world - USA, UK, France, Norway, Japan and Canada to name a few. Of course within Western Australia and the rest of Australia as well. I'm forever grateful for my collectors and every piece which finds its new home brings me immense joy.
I continue to create my art and can't ever see myself stepping away as I gain so much pleasure from both the process and the end product. I find inspiration all around me - nature is very generous to provide a never ending supply of colours in the form of the sky, the beach, flowers, in fact everywhere!
